Puchong blaze guts four factories, collapse risk remains

At 6.34am on September 17, a fire engulfed four factories in the Jalan TPP 5/15 area of the Puchong Industrial Park, Selangor. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) received the emergency call and dispatched its assistance. The fire impacted an area spanning 80 by 100 feet, affecting four distinct factories: a tyre manufacturer, a hardware store specializing in pipes and valves, a furniture producer, and an engineering firm.

The fire was brought under control by 8.30am; however, firefighting efforts on the rooftops and interior of the factories continue. An official from JBPM stated that, while the fire spread remains contained, there is still a risk of structural collapse due to the damage. The firefighting operation required the efforts of 33 personnel and 12 fire engines from Puchong, Subang Jaya, Penchala, Petaling Jaya, Seri Kembangan, and Cyberjaya stations. The source of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be determined.
