Police present N11.4m to families of deceased officers in Kebbi

The Kano State Police Command disbursed N34.3 million in benefits to families of fallen and injured police officers under the IGP's welfare scheme. On Thursday, Commissioner Ibrahim Adamu Bakori handed over 62 cheques worth N34,309,073.70 to 62 beneficiaries at the Command Headquarters in Bompai. The payment was made through the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Scheme, a welfare program established by IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu to assist families of officers killed or injured in the line of duty.

Bakori emphasized that while money could not replace a life, the gesture showed the Force's commitment to standing with the families of fallen officers. He urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely for the education and upkeep of their children and families. The Commissioner also assured that the Command would continue prioritizing the welfare of officers and promised timely payment of benefits to deceased and injured personnel.

Bakori announced further welfare packages planned for the families of fallen officers. Beneficiary Malama Safiya Abdullahi Adamu thanked the Inspector-General and the Command for their support, praying for the deceased officers and those injured to recover swiftly.
