Police arrest seven suspected robbers at Zebilla

Sharjah Police have stated that an initial examination has found no indication of foul play in the death of an Asian woman whose case has gone viral on social media. The police did not disclose the woman's name, but she is identified by her family as Dr Afeena Raheem, a 32-year-old Indian expatriate and mother of two from Kerala.

Afeena had reportedly collapsed at her home in Sharjah's Al Qasimia area on Monday morning while her husband was at work. Her sister-in-law, who was present, discovered her unconscious in the kitchen, administered CPR, and called for an ambulance. Afeena was promptly transported to a private hospital but unfortunately could not be revived.

Her family mentioned that she had no pre-existing health issues and was awaiting paperwork to repatriate her body to Kerala. The police confirmed the sequence of events in their statement on Thursday. After the family reported the incident to the Central Operations Room, police patrols and National Ambulance teams were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment but passed away later. Forensic examination was ordered by the Public Prosecution to ascertain the cause of death, while the relevant authorities continue their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the case. Police emphasized that the initial examination revealed no suspicion of criminal involvement and that investigations and forensic procedures are still ongoing.

They also urged the public and media organizations to refrain from disseminating unverified information or making conclusions before the investigation and forensic reports are finalized, stressing the importance of relying on official sources for information, especially in cases that are still under investigation.
