NPP urges delegates to verify eligibility ahead of October 3 national officers elections

The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged delegates to check their eligibility for the upcoming October 3 National Delegates Conference via the official NPP website. Delegates are instructed to click on "Verification" on the navigation bar and input their phone number or voter ID number to receive a One-Time Password (OTP).

Once entered, the OTP will confirm their eligibility. Addressing a press conference in Accra on September 16, NOEC Chairman Frederick Opare-Ansah explained that if the entered details do not match a member on the party's records, the user will be informed accordingly. The final delegates register had been finalized and would be accessible for collection by aspirants or their authorized representatives from today.

Opare-Ansah highlighted that the committee had also held discussions with aspirants and their representatives to provide them with the final rules, regulations, guidelines, and operational arrangements for the election. The electoral process would be overseen by the Electoral Commission, with the NOEC working alongside the Ghana Police Service to ensure an orderly, secure, and transparent election.

Aspirants were requested to submit the names of their printing agents to oversee the printing of ballot papers, and they also needed to provide the names and photographs of their polling agents for identification, accreditation, and access during the election. Proxy voting would be permitted, with a complete framework for eligibility, applications, verification, approval, and the exercise of proxy votes.

The NOEC would administer and implement the proxy voting process, with the final proxy register to be published on September 27. Opare-Ansah emphasized the NOEC's commitment to a fair, transparent, orderly, and credible electoral process, urging delegates to adhere to the guidelines and timelines strictly if they wish to utilize the proxy arrangement.
