NBU unveils Chervona Ruta – Voice of Generations silver coin

The National Bank of Ukraine unveiled a commemorative silver coin titled "Chervona Ruta – Voice of Generations" on its Telegram channel. This coin pays tribute to the song by Volodymyr Ivasiuk, with a face value of 10 hryvnias. Created from 925 fine silver and weighing 31.1 grams, the coin's obverse showcases a stylized portrait of Ivasiuk at a grand piano.

Surrounding the portrait are elements such as a musical staff, a pen, the artist's monogram, Carpathian Mountains, and a river shaped like a violin. To the right, there's a stylized flower and the silhouette of a young woman. The reverse of the coin depicts the river metamorphosing into a musical staff displaying a portion of the Chervona Ruta melody.

The designers believe this melody has the power to shatter the stones of the regime, liberating the flower as a symbol of national spirit, cultural identity, love, and light. The coin's artist is Oleksandra Kuchynska, while sculptors Volodymyr Atamanchuk and Anatoliy Demyanenko brought the design to life. With a mintage limit of up to 10,000 units, the commemorative coin will be available for purchase through the NBU's online numismatic store and distributor banks. The National Bank of Ukraine will announce the commencement of sales separately.
