Mumbai, September 17, 2026 - Indian national team footballer Dalima Chhibber has taken on a new role as Football Culture & Player Pathways Lead at Nova Sports. In this position, she will be actively involved in the Nova Football Pathway, focusing on developing the Nova Football Academy curriculum and operating processes. Chhibber aims to mentor athletes, serve as a point of contact for players, coaches and parents, and represent the Nova Sports brand.

Her role will also concentrate on supporting the growth of the wider football ecosystem, including coach onboarding, training, and development. Dalima will prioritize identifying and developing more female coaches to build a strong operating benchmark for women's football development in India.

Dalima expressed her excitement about the initiative, stating that as players and women footballers, they have been advocating for more structure and support. She believes this role will help her contribute to building a pathway for women's football, starting from grassroots and moving towards the elite level. Dalima emphasized that developing an athlete entails more than just teaching them to kick a ball, as football requires mental, physical, and holistic support.

Her appointment follows Nova Sports' inaugural SuperNova Football Championship, which took place in Bengaluru. The championship aimed to provide young girls with opportunities to compete and showcase their skills in a dedicated matchday environment. Dalima herself attended the event as a special guest and praised the significant impact these tournaments can have on women's football at the grassroots level.
