‘I have never met or known Disha Salian,’ says Aaditya Thackeray

Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray firmly denied any association with the passing of ex-manager Disha Salian of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, just two days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) included him in their investigation. "I have never met or known Disha Salian," he stated, asserting that the accusation is a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation by individuals with political and personal reasons for doing so, for an extended period of six years.

On X, Mr. Thackeray mentioned, "Let the official re-investigation proceed without malicious distractions and character assassination for political motives."

The CBI registered a case against Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, and others on Monday under murder and criminal conspiracy laws, following a Bombay High Court order directed to file a fresh case after Disha's father, Satish Salian, raised concerns about the Mumbai Police's investigative lapses in a petition.

Disha Salian passed away in 2020, which the Mumbai Police concluded as a suicide following a fall from a building in Mumbai. This marks the third fresh investigation on September 2, with the court order being the third in the same month. In 2023, the Commissioner of Police, under the state government's directive, ordered a new probe under Section 174, which concluded with a suicide verdict on April 14, 2026. The Special Executive Magistrate accepted the report on May 6, 2026.
