Google Keep update tweaks the homescreen widget on Android

Google Keep for Android has introduced a minor update that alters its homescreen widget, which displays a feed on your device’s main screen. The Material You design era sidebar on the right, which contained shortcuts for adding various types of notes, has been replaced. Instead, a circular FAB (floating action button) is now located at the center, functioning similarly to a “Single note” widget.

When tapped, this button opens a pop-up window, requiring a second tap to create a new note. This change in interface design aims to match the behavior of the smaller, pill-shaped “Quick capture” widget. Consequently, the new layout features an edge-to-edge design, providing more space to view each note compared to the older version.

The update is currently rolling out via the Google Play Store, version 5.26.365.x, and comes alongside the launch of Keep Live, a feature exclusive to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers. For additional news, viewers are encouraged to check out 9to5Google on YouTube.
