GCIOBA, ipNX Partner to Digitally Transform Government College Ibadan Through CSR Initiative

Government College Ibadan and leading Nigerian ICT firm ipNX Nigeria Limited have joined forces for a comprehensive digital connectivity initiative. Led by GCIOBA North America, this partnership aims to revolutionize the campus-wide digital infrastructure of Government College Ibadan through ipNX's commitment to enhancing education quality in Nigeria.

The project establishes a strong fibre backbone connecting 29 buildings and provides enterprise-grade wireless connectivity in each building, benefiting over 2,250 students and staff. This robust digital ecosystem will support teaching, learning, research, and efficient school administration while enabling access to future-ready digital learning resources.

The initiative was highlighted during the 2026 GCIOBA Lagos Branch Annual Luncheon, where it was warmly received by alumni and stakeholders. GCIOBA President Olawale Babalakin emphasized the school's legacy and the importance of preparing students for a digital world. ipNX Group Managing Director Ejovi Aror sees this as a long-term investment in Nigeria's technological future, stating that digital infrastructure is now essential for education.

The event also recognized two prominent alumni - Dr. Burian Carew, a pioneer in Nigeria's ICT industry, and Dr. Blackie Aror, father of ipNX's Group Managing Director. Their posthumous Merit Awards underscore the impact these alumni have had on Nigeria's technology and educational landscape.
