Filmmaker Park Hoon-jung wins top prize at French festival with 'Tristes Tropiques'

Park Hoon-jung's latest action noir film, Tristes Tropiques, emerged victorious at the 32nd L'Etrange Festival in France, securing the prestigious Nouveau Genre Grand Prize in the international competition category. The film had previously claimed the Silver Raven award at the 44th Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival and received an official invitation to both the 58th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and Germany's 40th Fantasy Filmfest. Tristes Tropiques follows a group of young assassins, trained in a perilous tropical rainforest by a merciless mentor.
