Universal is reportedly reconsidering its plans to release a controversial documentary about Elon Musk, despite receiving positive reviews at recent film festivals. Despite Universal's initial investment, hesitancy over the film's full release is reportedly growing as Musk's relationship with President Donald Trump has shifted.

The movie, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and received a standing ovation, includes claims such as Musk allegedly knowing the 2024 election result in advance and using "lasers in space" for communication with Starlink satellites. These claims have been debunked by Musk's attorney and independent cybersecurity researchers.

Former partners and family members, including Ashley St. Clair, are also featured in the film, as is Musk's CGI representation. Musk has criticized the documentary as a "hit piece" and a "false film," while Gibney maintains that the film is fair and exposes contradictions in Musk's narrative.
