Exco belia dan sukan N Sembilan tolak gesaan Loke letak jawatan

Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Belia dan Sukan Negeri Sembilan, Mustapha Nagoor, rejected calls from DAP Deputy President Loke Siew Fook to have exco members from Negeri Sembilan take up their positions if they do not recognize Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Dipertuan Besar. Mustapha emphasized that Loke should not interfere with the internal affairs of Negeri Sembilan or make demands against the current exco lineup.

"Who is this Loke to pressure (appointing) positions. Don't interfere and sit quietly," he urged to all parties to refer to the statement by the Chief Minister Ismail Lasim regarding the exco's vote last Tuesday.

Earlier, Loke urged all Negeri Sembilan exco members to take up their positions if they do not recognize Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Dipertuan Besar. The MP from Seremban said all exco members concerned took an oath of office before Tuanku Muhriz at the beginning of August following the formation of the state government after the PRN.

On Tuesday, Negeri Sembilan exco announced a proclamation declaring the withdrawal of Tuanku Muhriz's throne on April 19 as valid and recognizing Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar as the new Yang Dipertuan Besar. However, Ismail today stated that the state government has been asked to continue the proclamation process according to the relevant regulations.

Nevertheless, the State Justice and Law (DKU) of Negeri Sembilan stressed that the exco's decision has no legal effect. According to DKU, matters relating to the selection, appointment, removal, and dismissal of the Yang Dipertuan Besar fall under its jurisdiction under Article XVI of the State Bodies of Negeri Sembilan Law 1959. DKU also affirmed that Tuanku Muhriz remains the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
