Ekiti indigeneship claim: Sue me too – Ogun PDP’s Adebutu dares Yayi

Oladoipo Adebutu, the PDP governorship candidate for Ogun State in the 2027 election, declared that the ruling APC party is growing anxious due to the increasing influence of the opposition party. He challenged APC governorship candidate and Senator Olamilekan Adeola, also known as Yayi, to sue him for calling him a "fake indigene of Ogun State."

Adebutu insisted he had sufficient documents to prove that Adeola is not from the state. He also criticized the ruling party for intolerance, alleging that the opposition had been barred from placing billboards while their posters were being torn down and defaced. During a rally in Odogbolu Local Government Area, Adebutu accused the APC of removing and defacing PDP campaign materials.

Earlier, APC senator Adeola had threatened to sue APC gubernatorial aspirant Abayomi Hunye and PDP chieftain Folake Marcus-Bello for claiming he is from Ekiti State, threatening legal action if they did not provide evidence within 24 hours. Adebutu dared the senator's lawyers to sue him, stating that the truth is Yayi is a fake indigene of Ogun State.

He urged the senator's legal team to present all their documents in court. Meanwhile, PDP deputy governor candidate Lateefah Sowunmi-Kolapo urged voters to turn out in large numbers on February 16, 2027, to oust the allegedly insensitive APC government. Former leader John Obafemi also appealed to the people to reject the APC government's mismanagement in the upcoming election.
