Bose returns with new open earbuds (and a refreshed favorite)

Bose has introduced two new open-ear earbud options to its lineup: the Sport Open Earbuds and the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen). This follows the release of the second-gen QuietComfort Headphones. The open-ear earbuds are among Bose's favorite products, and the company is expanding its offerings to cater to different types of open-ear enthusiasts.

The Ultra Open (2nd Gen) builds on Bose's premium audio technologies, making it an ideal choice for those seeking an enhanced listening experience in an open-ear form factor. On the other hand, the Sport Open Earbuds are a new product category designed for active lifestyles, offering durability and comfort for those on the go.

The second-gen Ultra Open earbuds boast improved audio reproduction, with deeper bass, louder volume, and clearer calls compared to their predecessors. Additionally, they will feature an Immersive Audio mode called Cinema, providing a spatial audio experience, intelligent auto volume adjustment, and advanced voice pickup technologies. The Ultra Open (2nd Gen) will also support AptX codecs for high-resolution audio over a wireless connection, Google Fast Pair, and Google Find Hub.

The Sport Open Earbuds, available at a lower price point of $199, are built for running, workouts, and outdoor activities. They feature an IP54 durability rating, making them dust-protected and capable of withstanding splashes of water, rain, and sweaty workouts. These earbuds also come with on-device button controls for convenient control during physical activities. Both the Ultra Open and Sport Open earbuds will be available in Black and White Smoke color options.
