Bose Just Dropped New Sport Open Earbuds and Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen)

Bose has introduced two new models of open earbuds: the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) and the Sport Open Earbuds. The Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) have upgraded drivers that allow for louder and deeper bass, as well as Bose's TrueSpatial technology with head-tracking for Immersive Audio, including a Cinema mode. They feature a cuff-clip form factor similar to their predecessor and are available in black, white smoke, cherry chocolate, and olive green.

With an IPX4 splash rating and up to 9 hours of battery life (7 hours when Immersive Audio is enabled), they are suitable for activities like running and biking. The Sport Open Earbuds, priced at $199, are designed for more durable and secure fit, making them ideal for active use. They have a similar look to Shokz OpenDots 2 earbuds and are also available in black, white smoke, and eucalyptus green.

These buds lack Bose's Immersive Audio feature and provide up to 7 hours of battery life. Both new models are available for preorder on September 19, with shipping starting on October 1. While Bose claims these earbuds are among the best-sounding open earbuds, they are priced higher than many other premium sport clip-on earbuds, suggesting that discounted versions may become more common in the market.
