Bengaluru: A kidnapping attempt in the city went awry on Wednesday evening when the vehicle carrying a kidnapped woman collided with more than 20 vehicles, causing injuries to six people. The incident unfolded after the 21-year-old woman was snatched from her home by four men sent by her own family, as she had married her lover against familial opposition.

The chase that ensued led to a chaotic car crash, with the accused ramming their vehicle into numerous others. Four of the kidnappers were apprehended, while a fifth managed to flee the scene. The rescued woman, identified as Pooja, hailed from Rajasthan and had married Omprakash in Melwas village after nine months of their union, despite their parents' disapproval.

Pooja’s family resorted to extreme measures to retrieve her, even resorting to a hired assassin to kidnap her. The injured victims included children and the elderly, with one person sustaining serious head injuries. The arrested individuals – Rakesh, Karan, and Ayan – were locals from Rajasthan, with Saddam identified as the getaway driver.
