14,500 missing children in Bihar, says Patna High Court after newborn goes missing

Film director Gautham Vasudev Menon has informed the Madras High Court of having secured an investor to ensure the release of the Vikram-starrer 'Chiyan' Dhruva Natchathiram before October 31, 2026, in as many screens as possible. The Madras High Court, presided over by Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy, granted the film production firm Kondaduvom Entertainment time until October 31 to release the movie, following its April 2026 approval of the release.

The extended time was due to the financial dispute surrounding the project, which required the identification of an investor to settle dues to creditors. Throughout the process, Menon continued to seek extensions from the court, highlighting the need to secure sufficient theatres, distributors, and exhibitors for the movie's release.

The court appointed observers M.V. Swaroop and H.V. Hredai, who submitted their report seeking clarifications, including a question about a ₹10.57 crore payment made to Vikram. The judge found the confirmation of the payment unavailable and ordered Menon to submit the necessary documents, along with the mode of payment, for the observers' decision.

After considering the reasons for the extension, the judge extended the release time limit until October 31, 2026, subject to the observers' decisions on the payment.
