Alpine F1 adds Mike Elliott as Chief Technical Officer

Alpine, an F1 team, has appointed Mike Elliott as their new Chief Technical Officer. Elliott, a British driver, boasts over two decades of experience in Formula 1, having previously raced for McLaren. He began his career with the team in 2000 as an aerodynamicist and went on to join Renault in 2008 before returning to Silver Arrows in 2012.

Elliott served as Head of Aerodynamics before taking on the role of Technology Director from 2017 to 2021, and finally becoming Technical Director in 2021. He even briefly served as Chief Technical Officer in 2023 before departing from the team. Alpine's statement highlights Elliott's proven track record, noting his contribution to eight Constructors’ and eight Drivers’ Championships.

The team believes his expertise will bolster their technical capabilities as they aim to close the gap with the top four teams. Despite a challenging 2025 season, Alpine has narrowed the gap this year, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors’ Championship standings with 68 points. The team has had notable performances, including a third-place finish for Pierre Gasly at the Monaco Grand Prix and a six-place finish for Franco Colapinto at the Canadian Grand Prix.
