Alpine F1 adds Mike Elliott as Chief Technical Officer

Alpine has bolstered their leadership team by appointing Mike Elliott as their new Chief Technical Officer. The British driver, who spent more than two decades in Formula 1, joins the team with extensive experience, having previously worked with Mercedes and McLaren. Elliott's career began at McLaren in 2000, where he served as an aerodynamicist before moving to Renault in 2008 and eventually joining the Silver Arrows in 2012.

Throughout his time at Mercedes, he held various roles, including Head of Aerodynamics, Technology Director, and Technical Director from 2017 to 2021. Elliott briefly served as Chief Technical Officer in 2023 before leaving the team. Alpine's statement highlighted his proven track record, with eight Constructors' and eight Drivers' Championships to his name.

The team expects his arrival to strengthen their technical capabilities as they aim to close the gap to the top four teams. Following a challenging 2025 season, Alpine currently sits sixth in the Constructors' Championship standings with 68 points, nine points behind Visa Cash App Racing Bulls. This season has seen highlights such as Pierre Gasly's third-place finish at the Monaco Grand Prix and a sixth-place finish from Franco Colapinto at the Canadian Grand Prix.
