Al-Nuaimi discusses Qatar’s strategy for social development with CMU-Q students

Doha, Qatar - Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) recently hosted the Minister of Social Development and Family, H E Buthaina bint Ali Al-Jabr Al-Nuaimi, to discuss Qatar's strategic roadmap for social development. CMU-Q, a partner university of Qatar Foundation, welcomed her for a presentation and Q&A session.

Dean of CMU-Q, Michael Trick, expressed pleasure at her participation in the Dean's Lecture Series, stating, "As an expert in social policy and education, she has a fascinating perspective and insight on the challenges and opportunities for Qatar in the area of social development and family."

Al-Nuaimi presented Qatar's Ministry of Social Development and Family Strategy 2025-2030, titled "From Care to Empowerment." The strategy focuses on five interconnected pillars: strengthening family unity, women's empowerment, supporting vulnerable groups, building social solidarity, and comprehensive social protection.

She emphasized that this strategy marks a significant shift in Qatar's social development approach, requiring collective effort from government, private sector, civil society, and the community. Al-Nuaimi stated, "Our vision is to move from care to empowerment, creating conditions for individuals and families to thrive and contribute fully to society."

The presentation marked the first installment of CMU-Q's Dean's Lecture Series for the new academic year, a series welcoming leaders from various fields for over 15 years.
