Why I stepped back from criticising government — Mr Macaroni

Nigerian actor and social commentator Mr. Macaroni, also known as Adebowale Adedayo, has revealed the reasons behind his reduced public criticism of the government. In a series of posts on X, Mr. Macaroni explained that he has been facing fatigue from repeating the same messages, facing backlash from citizens, and even threats. He acknowledged that the interview where he discussed the dangers he faced over the EndSARS protests was more than two years old, but he emphasized that his core points remain valid.

Mr. Macaroni stated, "I am tired of saying the same thing over and over again." He added that until Nigerians are ready to fight for their rights and abandon their survival mentality, constant repetition of the same message is tiring. He also pointed to the administration of President Bola Tinubu as the "Most Useless Government in the history of Useless Governments" in a March 2026 statement, marking the moment he decided to take a break from public criticism.
