Vidyavihar SUV Crash Case: Bombay HC Refuses Bail To Juvenile, Cites Dangerous Stunt Driving And Public Safety Risk

Screenshots from the juvenile's Instagram account showed him performing dangerous stunts on cars and motorcycles, including performing wheelies with pillion riders without seatbelts. The court also noted that the juvenile's parents were aware of his stunts but failed to provide adequate control over him. The public prosecutor argued that the juvenile was driving aggressively and recklessly, causing the fatal collision on February 5.

The court dismissed the plea, noting that the juvenile's parents had failed to exercise proper control over him. The juvenile's association with friends involved in stunt activities posed a continued threat to public safety. The High Court affirmed the Sessions Court's decision, upholding the juvenile's placement in a reformative center.
