UP Cabinet Meeting: Transfer of 65 acres cleared for regional NSG centre in Ayodhya

On Tuesday, the cabinet approved the transfer of free land to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for constructing a Regional Centre of the National Security Guard in Ayodhya. The land, valued at around Rs 16.9 crore, consists of 26 hectares (65 acres) of barren ground in Milkipur tehsil. The NSG center aims to bolster security around the Ayodhya Dham–Ram Temple and enhance rapid response capabilities in emergencies.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired the cabinet meeting where the approval was granted. Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna highlighted that Ayodhya has gained national and international prominence following the Ram Temple's construction and consecration. With an influx of devotees, guests, and tourists, the security sensitivity of the area has notably increased.

The minister emphasized that the transferred land will solely be used for the NSG Regional Centre and cannot be repurposed. An exception was made to relax revenue department provisions due to Ayodhya's heightened security concerns. If the land is not utilized within three years or ceases to be needed, it will be returned to the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Department.

The NSG Regional Hub in Ayodhya will bolster the security measures surrounding the Ram Temple premises.
