Unhealthy API in 38 areas in peninsula, some near ‘very unhealthy’

On today's date, 38 areas across Peninsular Malaysia experienced unhealthy air pollution index (API) readings at 5pm. The Klang Valley, particularly areas in Selangor like Johan Setia, Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Klang, Banting, and Kuala Selangor, had API readings nearing the 'very unhealthy' threshold. Two readings in Kuala Lumpur were in Cheras and Batu Muda.

In Negeri Sembilan, Putrajaya, Nilai, Seremban, and Port Dickson recorded unhealthy API levels. Up north, Perak's Seri Manjung, Tasek Ipoh, Tanjung Malim, Taiping, and Pegoh, Ipoh reported unhealthy air quality. Penang's Minden, Balik Pulau, Seberang Jaya, and Seberang Perai, along with Kedah's Sungai Petani and Kulim Hi-Tech, also had unhealthy readings.

On the east coast, Pahang's Temerloh, Jerantut, Indera Mahkota, Kuantan, Balok Baru, and Kuantan, as well as Terengganu's Kuala Terengganu, Besut, Kemaman, and Paka, experienced unhealthy APIs. Only Tanah Merah in Kelantan and a few areas in Johor and Melaka had unhealthy air quality, while the rest had moderate or good air quality.
