Ted Lasso finally starts to do right by the Lady Greyhounds

In the seventh episode of Ted Lasso Season 4, the show finally begins to prioritize the Lady Greyhounds, addressing my main complaint about the previous episodes. Throughout the season, the women's team operated as a group rather than as individuals, rarely seen outside of team activities. With the exception of Coach Alice and striker Gemma, their personal lives were barely explored.

However, in episode 7 titled "Yes & Baby," the focus shifts to the team's struggles in their personal lives. Lizzie deals with her ex-boyfriend dropping off their sons at different times, Siobhan and Niamh face a rent increase, Boots struggles to fix her car, and Shannon has a side job as a food delivery courier. The episode highlights that their professional football careers may not bring significant financial success and that their achievements are often overlooked.

Ted Lasso now wrestles with the harsh realities faced by his female players, offering a welcome change compared to the men's characters from previous seasons. While the episode primarily focuses on the main ensemble, it provides more screen time for the Lady Greyhounds in practice scenes, a change from previous shows dedicated to Ted, Coach Beard, and Alice.

The team's dynamic starts to shine through, with Alice striving to create more open communication. Episode 7 culminates with the team questioning a new "Believe" sign, expressing their desire to win despite financial hardships. This shift towards the Lady Greyhounds' struggles and individuality is a significant step towards a better understanding of the team, both as individuals and as a unit.

However, the question remains whether Ted Lasso can balance its older characters with the new team and deliver a satisfying conclusion within the remaining episodes.
