Sulle Linee Vesuviane dieci nuovi treni che assicureranno frequenze di 30 minuti

Ten new trains have been delivered and a new timetable has been defined for the Vesuvius Lines, also known as Circumvesuviana. Managed by Eav, a company controlled by the Campania Region, these railways have long been a symbol of inefficiency and poor service with a large user base. Under the management of Eav, Pietro Diamantini was recently appointed as the sole administrator.

The arrival of the new trains (out of a total of 56 ordered) and the new timetable are seen as a signal of a revitalization and enhancement of infrastructure and service that has been stifled for too long. There will be more services compared to the past, greater regularity, and every 30-minute intervals, improving upon the previous system that operated on a 36-minute frequency.

With this reorganization, the service becomes more regular and intuitive, with repetitive and easily memorable schedules throughout the day. The total service offer increases to 280 daily runs, totaling 39,872 seats, 171,988 total seats per day, and over 9,300 kilometers covered daily on the Vesuvian network. "Today we are taking an important step to make tangible improvements to public transportation on the Vesuvian Lines," states Roberto Fico, the President of the Campania Region.

"We know there is still much work to be done, but the direction is clear: to provide citizens with a reliable and efficient public transport system, up to their needs." He speaks of the "56 more runs compared to 2025," and Mario Casillo, the Vice President and Assessor for Transport of the Campania Region. "Our vision of mobility is clear: a more reliable service with more runs and reduced waiting times.

The new timetable, with the 30-minute cycle and 280 daily runs, is moving in this direction: a system close to the needs of commuters, students, workers, and tourists." Casillo also announces greater integration between trains and buses. Buses' offer is indeed enhanced with an increase in the runs of the Meta-Massalubrense and Circolari of Vico Equense lines.

Pietro Diamantini explains: "We want to gradually change the way the company looks at its offer, increasingly oriented towards the needs of our clients who use the train. The customer must once again be at the center of our decisions. This means listening to the needs of those who use a train to go to work, to university, to school, to reach a hospital or an appointment.

It also means thinking about tourists who choose our territory and need a simple, understandable, and reliable transportation system."
