Sisi and Bin Salman – Our understanding is absolute, and our goals are the same

On Tuesday, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met to discuss strengthening relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Both leaders emphasized that their shared interests and objectives necessitate greater solidarity between the nations. President Sisi affirmed Egypt's commitment to the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, while Prince Salman reiterated the kingdom's reliance on Egypt's stability and security.

They both stressed the need to intensify efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation, remove obstacles to trade and investment, and elevate relations to reflect the historical ties between the two countries. The meeting addressed regional challenges, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to supporting the sovereignty and stability of all Arab nations.

President Sisi highlighted Egypt's position in backing Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries during the current crisis, while Prince Salman appreciated Egypt's stance in promoting regional stability and peace. The two leaders also affirmed their shared positions on key issues, including the need for a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemen crisis, support for the Palestinian cause, and the implementation of the US peace plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

They stressed the importance of ensuring freedom and security of maritime navigation in the Straits of Hormuz, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Red Sea, as well as the importance of lifting Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem. Both sides agreed on the need for direct consultations and coordination on various bilateral and regional issues in the coming period.
