Salesforce is expanding its Missionforce defense AI agent platform with new Nvidia and OpenAI capabilities to tackle the US government's 'toughest challenges'

Salesforce has expanded its Missionforce defense AI agent program by partnering with OpenAI and Nvidia. The company announced that Missionforce will now incorporate OpenAI's frontier models, as well as Nvidia's models and accelerated computing capabilities. This enhancement aims to provide government agencies with highly specialized AI capabilities and agents designed to tackle the toughest challenges they face.

Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce & Government Cloud, explained that government agencies require customizable AI that can operate across various secure environments demanded by their missions. Missionforce delivers this at scale, offering purpose-built AI agents that execute tasks within private cloud or air-gapped settings. This capability extends to mundane but critical processes like procurement, supplier management, and invoice audits, which can now be transformed into digital workflows through specialized AI agents that operate autonomously, monitor status, and flag exceptions in real-time.

Additionally, Salesforce's Missionforce Field Operations & Asset Management tool enables government agencies to automate scheduling, work orders, and asset maintenance using AI agents. Notably, these agents come with native offline mobile capabilities, ensuring functionality even in remote environments.

Salesforce's Missionforce program celebrates its one-year anniversary, during which the public sector has emerged as the company's fastest-growing industry at scale. Salesforce's defense sector business has also grown by 80% year-over-year, driven by escalating demand. At Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff emphasized the company's deep commitment to America, highlighting that Missionforce now supports some of the US government's most complex and consequential missions across more than 30 countries, working alongside 60 federal agencies, all 15 US Cabinet departments, all 50 states, and all six branches of the US military.

Collins noted that one year into Missionforce, government agencies are rapidly moving from AI ambition to operational deployment. The expansion, including the new partnerships with OpenAI and Nvidia, will empower agencies to equip their personnel and employ AI effectively, while ensuring the security, accountability, and control necessary for their most critical missions.
