New York's Pete Alonso achieved a rare feat while playing on the road, hitting his 300th career home run during a game against his former team, the New York Mets, at Citi Field. Alonso's memorable blast in the ninth inning tied the score, 3-3, and set the stage for Coby Mayo's inside-the-park homer in the 11th, which led the Baltimore Orioles to a 7-5 victory.

The Orioles manager, Craig Albernaz, praised the dugout's enthusiasm for Alonso, while New York pitcher Sean Manaea admitted he'd never witnessed such a reaction from fans before. Alonso received a beer shower from his Baltimore teammates and was honored with a curtain call by the Queens crowd of 28,097. The three Long Islanders who helped catch Alonso's milestone home run - Michael Shaw, Nick Maldarella, and Chris Makarius - presented him with their signed home run ball, a bat, and tickets to next season's Camden Yards in Baltimore.
