Pengampunan Najib: PAS perlu elak ‘lebih sudu daripada kuah’, kata penganalisis

PAS seeks to focus on closer issues to the people and not be perceived as going too far in the matter of Najib Razak's petition for pardon, according to analyst Tawfik Yaakub. Yaakub, from the University of Malaya, suggested that the party should prioritize issues such as living expenses, by providing alternatives through the budget before the 2027 Budget Announcement.

He noted that Umno has a reason to argue regarding the decision of the Federal Territories Board of Inquiry (LPWP) on Najib's case, as he is the ex-president of Umno, but has still expressed respect for the process and the power of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Yaakub believes that PAS has gone too far in this matter and seems to be fighting for a final decision through the Sultan's statement.

Instead, he thought the main narrative of the opposition party, particularly PAS, this day should be focused on other issues that today's people are facing, such as living expenses, creating an alternative budget and preparing for contingencies for the PRN Melaka.
