Packers CB Keisean Nixon needs to stay consistent after one of his most 'complete games' in Week 1

In Week 1, Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon made a strong case for his starting role by recording a tackle for loss and an interception in the opening plays against the Minnesota Vikings. Playing 65 defensive snaps, Nixon contributed five combined tackles, two quarterback hits, and a half-sack. Despite Justin Jefferson's impressive performance with eight catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns, Nixon managed to cover for him in close coverage for three of those catches, allowing 35 yards.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur commended Nixon's performance, stating it was one of his most complete games during his five seasons with the team. LaFleur emphasized Nixon's competition and dedication, saying he would not micromanage any criticism he faces. The 29-year-old cornerback has shown his value as a starter over the past season, with 17 started appearances and a career-high 17 pass breakups.

However, Nixon's 12 regular-season penalties, seven touchdowns allowed, and a 105.2 passer rating indicate that consistency will be crucial for his continued success.
