Outdoor work ban ends, Ministry of Labour urges continued safety

On September 15, the ban on outdoor work in Qatar came to an end, but the Ministry of Labour is emphasizing that safety precautions must continue. The ministry's campaign, titled "Heat fades... Safety stays," urges employers and workers to maintain safety practices and take necessary preventive measures. Despite the summer restriction on outdoor work, temperatures can still pose risks beyond the formal restriction period.

Throughout the summer, the ministry increased awareness efforts to prevent heat stress and strengthen occupational safety practices. A series of awareness seminars were organized in July, focusing on health risks associated with high temperatures, symptoms of heat stress, preventive practices, and emergency response. The seminars also provided guidance on legal requirements and preventive measures under Ministerial Decision No. 17 of 2021.

The ministry stresses that raising preventive awareness is crucial for reducing workplace injuries and occupational diseases. Protecting workers is a shared responsibility involving government bodies, employers, and workers. The ministry links occupational safety to broader efforts to create an attractive, safe, and sustainable working environment, aligning with QNV 2030's human development priorities.
