No more political value for UMNO to be part of Penang administration, says Guan Eng

DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has stated that there is no longer any political value for UMNO to remain part of the Pakatan Harapan (PH)-led government in Penang, as the party is now actively collaborating with Perikatan Nasional (PN). Lim argued that retaining UMNO is pointless, as they no longer have regard for the DAP. Lim criticized UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for not demanding that the PH in Penang expel UMNO from the state administration, unlike his actions at the federal level.

Lim urged PH Penang leaders to challenge UMNO's divisive rhetoric targeting non-Muslim religious minorities and dismissed concerns about offending an extremist UMNO. Lim emphasized that it is not a gag order preventing DAP leaders from rebutting UMNO's baseless allegations against PH or Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. While the final decision on UMNO's participation rests with DAP and PH central leadership, Lim suggested that Penang PH leaders should take a stance on the matter and inform the top about it.

Lim warned that keeping UMNO will tarnish the leadership of Penang PH by failing to acknowledge that the internal enemy is the real threat.
