N. Korea blasts S. Korea-U.S. defense talks on WMD response

The spokesperson emphasized that such a threat posed a significant security challenge that may require the invocation of provisions related to the state nuclear force policy in North Korea. The spokesperson urged the U.S. to correctly interpret the implications of invoking the relevant provisions of the law on nuclear forces and accept it as a grave warning.

North Korea's law on nuclear forces policy, enacted in 2022, outlines the circumstances under which nuclear weapons or WMD may be used, particularly when a nuclear or WMD attack is deemed imminent.
