MDCAT 2026: Each Province Gets 2 Separate Question Papers

Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal has outlined the responsibilities for the upcoming Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, emphasizing the importance of a smooth, transparent, and fair examination process. Speaking at a press conference, Kamal outlined the key details and expectations for the test, which is scheduled to take place on September 20, 2026, across 34 cities and towns within Pakistan, as well as one international venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A total of 138,160 candidates have registered for the examination.

To prepare for the MDCAT, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has compiled a question bank consisting of around 8,000 questions, with input from approximately 80 subject matter experts. Crucially, each province has received at least two distinct question papers, each containing 180 questions. This dual approach aims to ensure a fair distribution of questions across the nation.

Kamal stressed that the PM&DC has fulfilled its role in candidate registration, sharing candidate data with provincial authorities and universities, and providing a uniform syllabus and question bank. The onus now falls on the respective universities to manage the printing, storage, and transportation of the examination papers, as well as the declaration of results.

In the unlikely event of paper leakage or any lapse in maintaining transparency during the examination process, the university responsible will bear the consequences.
