Korea, OECD hold seminar on governance of state-run enterprises

The finance ministry of South Korea hosted a seminar on the governance of state-run enterprises in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on Tuesday in Paris. The event aimed to share perspectives on managing such enterprises in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

Policy officials from 28 countries and organizations gathered to exchange experiences related to state-run enterprises. Korea emphasized the importance of countries sharing their experiences to ensure state-run enterprises can deliver reliable public services and sustainable results amidst climate change and digital transformation.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the opportunities and risks presented by AI technologies for state-run firms. These include cybersecurity concerns and the responsible use of AI. The discussion also focused on balancing the commercial and noncommercial objectives of these enterprises.

Korea outlined its methods for evaluating these companies and providing incentives. The seminar served as a platform for the exchange of best practices and insights on managing state-run enterprises in the face of technological advancements and global challenges.
