Kaduna: ADC, APC trade blame over attack on Ashiru’s supporters

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State are accusing each other of attacking supporters of their respective candidates at a toll gate. The incident occurred on Tuesday when ADC governorship candidate Isa Ashiru returned to the city after a pilgrimage. Some of Ashiru's supporters reported their vehicles being vandalized and mobile phones stolen during the event, while ADC spokesman Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi confirmed the attack, stating that ADC members were the victims.

APC State Secretary Mohammed Sani Haruna, however, claimed that APC supporters were the ones attacked, and that the party is working to de-escalate the situation. Ashiru denounced the assault, warning against political violence, and called on security agencies to investigate the incident.
