GHMC cancels building permission in Guttala Begumpet over fake LRS document

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has revoked a building permission granted for a property in Guttala Begumpet following revelations that the Land Use Records (LRS) documents submitted were issued under other names. The discovery has prompted the filing of a police complaint at the Madhapur Police Station by the Deputy Commissioner of CMC Circle-50.

The complaint accuses Shaik Mastan of obtaining the building permit through TG-bPASS by presenting documents unrelated to Plot No. 55 in Survey No. 32, without the necessary Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) clearance certificate. The misconduct was uncovered during a complaint lodged with the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kukatpally Zone, Madhapur Circle-50. The complainant's brother claimed to be the legitimate owner of the land in question.

Upon investigation, municipal officials discovered that the LRS documents provided with the building permission application were issued to different individuals. Moreover, the application lacked the ULC clearance certificate, which is a mandatory requirement. Despite the cancellation of the building permission, municipal authorities have found evidence suggesting that construction work may have proceeded on the site despite the revoked permission.

A warning has been issued stating that further action will be taken in accordance with the law if such construction continues without a valid building permit.

The police investigation includes allegations of submitting forged or invalid LRS documents, securing a building permit without the requisite ULC clearance, concealing the truth during the permit application process, and attempting to continue construction activities post-cancellation of the permission. The police are currently scrutinizing LRS and ULC records, the documents submitted for the building permit, and details of the construction carried out at the site.
