Foreign workers’ syndicates will be dismantled at source, says minister

The Malaysian Home Ministry has vowed to eradicate foreign worker syndicates at their source with zero tolerance, according to Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail. The ministry's determination to dismantle the fraudulent operations was demonstrated during the aggressive "Ops Serkap" conducted on September 14, when 11 locations in Kuala Lumpur's Jalan Chan Sow Lin commercial area were raided simultaneously.

Thirty foreign nationals were detained, including 11 suspected ringleaders from Bangladesh. The operation resulted in the seizure of 19 foreign nationals, comprising 16 Bangladeshis, one national from Myanmar, and two Indonesians, for various immigration violations. Additionally, 18 laptops, 21 printers and scanners, three mobile phones, and ten Bangladeshi international passports were taken as evidence. Fake electronic Temporary Employment Visit Passes (e-PLKS) and fake police reports were among the items confiscated.

Saifuddin emphasized that the administration's bold use of administrative power is crucial in protecting national security. The home ministry has previously proven that administrative power must be boldly employed to safeguard national security.
