FEBC-Korea eyes North Korea outreach on 70th anniversary

The Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC)-Korea has announced its readiness to broaden its religious outreach into North Korea, as the nation prepares to mark its 70th anniversary. Chairman Billy Kim, speaking at a press conference in Seoul, stated that the Christian broadcaster is fully equipped to establish local broadcasting branches in North Korea once the opportunity arises.

Kim emphasized that their team has been cultivating young defectors who possess the skills necessary to establish and manage these broadcasting operations within the reclusive state. The organization is prepared to provide both spiritual and logistical support to these missionaries when the circumstances are favorable.

The FEBC-Korea press conference coincided with the broadcaster's 70th anniversary, a milestone that underscores seven decades of broadcast history and the organization's commitment to future peace and spiritual expansion. The event centered on the slogan "70 Years of Gospel, 70 Years of Grace," highlighting the broadcaster's growth since its inception in 1956.

Established in the aftermath of the Korean War, FEBC-Korea has evolved into a significant Christian radio network, comprising 13 FM stations and 14 relay stations across the nation. The network continues to serve as a crucial broadcasting hub, facilitating communication with neighboring regions.
