The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) hosted a seminar focused on export documentation and FBR regulatory requirements to educate businesses about the necessary compliance procedures and the importance of a facilitation-oriented approach from government entities. LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol presided over the event, which was also attended by Hina Parvez Butt, Chairperson Punjab Women Protection Authority.

Saigol pointed out that Pakistan’s exports were currently stagnant at approximately USD30 billion, while regional countries were doing better in this sector. He cited Vietnam as an example, with exports reaching around USD500 billion, highlighting the need for Pakistan to take practical steps to increase its export base and competitiveness.
He emphasized that high power tariffs posed a significant challenge for businesses and exporters, advocating for a reduction in the cost of doing business to make Pakistani products more appealing in international markets.
Saigol mentioned that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) was working on new sectors to boost exports, but such efforts should be backed by a business-friendly regulatory environment, streamlined processes, and effective assistance from government departments. Hina Parvez Butt, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, stressed the importance of effective law enforcement, clear procedures, and responsive government institutions to create a secure and supportive environment for women.
She emphasized that women should feel empowered to approach government institutions without fear or unnecessary obstacles. Butt also highlighted the government's commitment to making complaint and protection mechanisms more accessible and the introduction of the "15" emergency response system and the virtual women police station to provide women with easy access to reporting mechanisms and assistance.
