Ben Stokes has hailed Harry Brook's remarkable T20I innings against Sri Lanka, drawing a comparison suggesting Brook's talent may surpass that of former England star Kevin Pietersen. Brook's unbeaten 114 off 49 balls in the first T20I, featuring 10 fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 232.65, helped England post 254/4 before dismissing Sri Lanka for 135 in 19 overs to secure a 119-run victory.

Stokes, who has played alongside Brook for England, expressed his admiration for Brook's extraordinary talent on social media platform X, stating that "I don’t even think the genius of KP could come close to what Harry Brook has talent-wise." He added, "You are an absolute freak, Harry. You're mint to watch."

Brook's performance in the No. 3 position since moving there in T20Is, following an underwhelming T20 World Cup campaign, has been exceptional. In eight T20I innings at No. 3, he has scored 476 runs at an average of 95.20 and a strike rate of 200.84, including two centuries and two half-centuries. This run has also earned him a spot among a select group of players with multiple centuries across all three international formats, alongside cricketing legends such as Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Babar Azam, Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, Martin Guptill, and Quinton de Kock.

Brook's latest hundred was his second in T20Is, and in 69 matches for England across all formats, he has amassed 1,646 runs in 60 innings with an average of 36.57 and a strike rate of 164.10, featuring two centuries and eight half-centuries.
