Daylen Lile’s pinch 3-run homer lifts the Nationals to a 6-3 victory over the Phillies

In a thrilling Tuesday night contest, the Washington Nationals edged out the Philadelphia Phillies 6-3, with pinch-hitter Daylen Lile delivering the decisive three-run homer in the seventh inning. Andrés Chaparro added to the Nationals' cause with his own solo homer in the fifth, while Kyle Schwarber drove in the Phillies' lone run with his 45th career home run.

Philadelphia's Cristopher Sánchez struggled, surrendering five runs over three innings and striking out just five before allowing Lile's pinch homer. The Nationals now boast four consecutive wins, their first such streak since June 13-16. The Phillies, however, remain in contention for the NL wild-card spot, having lost four of their past five games.

With the two-game series concluding on Wednesday, Zack Wheeler will take on Cade Cavalli in the final matchup.
