Central Java attracts Dubai investment for mini-refinery project

Dubai has approved plans for an 80km highway that will link the emirate to Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion. The initial phase of the project, with a cost of Dh3.5 billion, is projected to reduce travel times by up to 60 percent. This new 12-lane corridor will be constructed between Al Shanouf Road and Dubai-Al Ain Road.

Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, announced the initiative on Wednesday, emphasizing its potential to accommodate up to 24,000 vehicles per hour in each direction and serve over 3.1 million residents. The highway will feature 72 bridges, 17 tunnels, and 45 stormwater drainage culverts, establishing a significant new transport connection across the UAE.

Phase two of the project will extend the highway from Dubai-Al Ain Road to Al Faya Road in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that this development is part of Dubai's ongoing commitment to investing in infrastructure to drive economic growth, enhance quality of life, and bolster the city's preparedness for the future. The new road network will integrate seamlessly with Al Maktoum International Airport and Etihad Rail, facilitating smooth transitions between road, air, and rail travel.
