Ben Saunders, original winner of The Voice, found dead in lake

Ben Saunders, the first winner of the Dutch talent show "The Voice of Holland," has been found dead in a recreational lake near Arnhem. His brother, Dean, confirmed his death to the Telegraaf after police recovered a body from the Rijkerswoerdse Plassen. Dean expressed his grief in an Instagram post, stating that the news had been a "dreadful day."

Police have not ruled out foul play, but his death is not being treated as a crime. Born in London, Saunders moved to the Netherlands as a child and grew up in Noord-Holland before settling in Arnhem. He opened a tattoo parlor and gained fame in 2011 when he won "The Voice" with his rendition of Kings of Leon's Use Somebody. Saunders, who struggled with health issues, had a community service sentence for abusing a traffic officer and was a member of the banned biker club Satudarah.
