ATM tubuh Angkatan Siber menjelang 2030

Malaysia's Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) will establish a fourth branch, the Siberian Army, by 2030 to tackle modern security threats. Panglima ATM Malek Razak Sulaiman revealed that this strategic move is being taken due to the increasing competition and warfare in the digital and electromagnetic domains globally. A specialized "Nuclear Tim" has been formed to handle design, coordination, organizational transformation, and capability development for the official establishment of this new branch.

The Nuclear Tim's launch coincided with the 93rd Annual Army Day celebration at the Royal Malaysian Navy Base (TLDM) Lumut, Perak, on September 19.

The Nuclear Tim will design and establish the Siberian Army, aligning it with the Ministry's guidelines, with the goal of making it operational by 2030. Malek Razak added that the ATM is also continuously developing expertise in Siberian and electromagnetic activities, with cyber capabilities, electronic warfare, and spectrum management already being practically applied to generate tangible operational impacts through the Fast Action Crew 2/26 exercises.

This commitment is further reinforced by the human resources aspect, as 60 officers and 17 others with the rank of TUDM have completed the Cema-related course by July last year. Earlier, Khaled Nordin, Minister of Defence, mentioned that the Ministry is currently in the process of developing a Siberian unit as a fourth service to handle modern and cognitive warfare threats, as the current threats have evolved beyond traditional physical warfare alone, shifting towards controlling the digital domain and public perception.
