Arizona State and Kansas choose different London travel plans for Wembley matchup

Lawrence, Kan. (AP) — Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham opted to depart for their upcoming game against Kansas in London immediately following their loss to Texas A&M on Saturday. In contrast, Kansas Jayhawks head coach Lance Leipold and his team waited until Tuesday before traveling from Topeka, Kansas. The contrasting travel plans for the Union Jack Classic, the first college football match at historic Wembley Stadium, echo the differing approaches taken by the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams when they played at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia at the start of their respective NFL seasons.

While both sets of coaches tried to downplay the impact of their travel arrangements, the 49ers ultimately won their game 27-7 against the Rams.
