Anwar: Malaysia won’t be transit point for shipments supporting Israel’s military, suspicious cargo will be inspected

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reiterated Malaysia's stance that the nation will not be utilized as a transit point for shipments supporting Israel's military operations. In a post on his X account, Anwar emphasized Malaysia's commitment to ensuring the country is not used to aid military aggression or harm innocent lives.

"Our position is clear and unambiguous," Anwar stated. "We will not permit our country to be utilized as a conduit for any shipment that supports or contributes to Israel's military capabilities and its aggression against Palestinians and other innocent people."

Any shipment that raises suspicion will be subject to inspection and investigation, in line with Malaysian law. If a violation is proven, Anwar asserted, "decisive action will be taken." The Prime Minister's statement came alongside a foreign report indicating a heightened level of scrutiny on Israel-bound shipments.
