Anthropic to open Singapore office in October, sees it as ‘standout market’ for Claude

Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, will open its fifth office in the Asia-Pacific region in Singapore next month, positioning it as a "standout market" for its AI model, Claude. This announcement comes as Singapore has emerged as a leading market for Claude usage, according to Anthropic's latest Economic Index. The Republic ranks second globally out of 121 countries for Claude usage per capita, with local adoption running 5.81 times higher than expected relative to the nation's population size.

The new office will join Anthropic's existing regional network in Tokyo, Bengaluru, Seoul, and Sydney. Chris Ciauri, managing director of international at Anthropic, stated that the move is a natural next step as they grow across the region, as Singapore has the highest per capita usage of Claude in the world. Dale Finlay, previously a senior executive at Google Cloud, has been appointed as general manager of Asean to lead regional commercial operations, based in Singapore.

Anthropic has initiated local hiring for several operational roles, including positions in finance, sales, applied AI, marketing, and public benefit. The new office is expected to collaborate with organizations of all sizes, from startups to large enterprises and the public sector, with a particular focus on regulated sectors such as financial services and government.
