8 global energy leaders to be honoured at ‘2026 Al-Attiyah International Energy Awards’

Eight distinguished individuals from the global energy sector will be honored at the 2026 Al-Attiyah International Energy Awards, set to take place on October 20 at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. Organized by the Al-Attiyah Foundation, the prestigious ceremony will gather over 300 senior executives, policymakers, diplomats, and thought leaders to recognize exceptional contributions to the energy industry and sustainable development.

This year marks the debut of the Young Energy Leader Award, which celebrates two emerging leaders whose innovative approaches and influential roles are shaping the future of the energy sector. The remaining six categories acknowledge lifetime achievement across various fields, with recipients making significant strides in advancing the energy industry, fostering international cooperation, and promoting progress towards a secure and sustainable energy future.

The awards pay tribute to the vision and legacy of the late His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry, whose leadership was instrumental in positioning Qatar as a prominent energy producer. This year's ceremony will be chaired by Dr Saud bin Abdullah al-Attiyah, chairman of the Al-Attiyah Foundation, who is dedicated to preserving his father's legacy while expanding the foundation's influence in international energy and sustainable development discussions.

Established in 2015, the Al-Attiyah Foundation has grown into a trusted platform for knowledge exchange and informed discourse, offering analysis and insights into the energy sector's most pressing challenges and opportunities through research publications, CEO Roundtables, podcasts, webinars, and other high-level events. ExxonMobil is the primary sponsor of the 2026 Awards, with support from the foundation's member organizations, including QatarEnergy, QNB, Shell, ConocoPhillips, Marubeni, Sasol, JTA Holding, Qatar Cool, and the Qatar Free Zones Authority.
